I had my reservations when placing an order for a cover in this cover. I thought the colour green would not really go well with my other accessories. How wrong I was! The colour is actually quite pretty (refer to my posted pictures on this item)and goes quite well with any colour. I had recently bought a zen skin by decalgirls and it look great with this pouch.
I need to disagree with some who said the tab was distracting when it was not tucked back while reading. Rather, I find that the tab is actually very useful for a better one-hand grip. I can actually hold the tab and click the 'next' button with my right hand only.
About the hinge system, I figured that if you do not try to/accidentally lift your kindle from the cover (like flipping the kindle from the inside of the cover) when the hinge is in place, there is really no way your kindle can be cracked. The elastic bands of this cover is another score point. It secure my kindle and prevent accidental lifting of the kindle from the cover, causing the crack that bugged so many people.

Love the color, the quality and how it securely protects my Kindle. The leather is good quality. Strangers even comment on this case--everyone's favorite feature is the tab to close it (however, I don't close it that often.

With two clips that fit inside my kindle and two straps to hold down the corners, I really thought my kindle was safe in this case.

However, after using the case for about two weeks, my kindle slid out of the case and hit the concrete. I wasn't swinging my kindle or even holding it precariously. I was carrying it firmly in my hand by the spine as I walked to work. When it fell, two corners of the plastic popped out. Now my keyboard doesn't work well on my 300 dollar Kindle.

The case is very pretty, and if I knew starting out that it wouldn't hold my kindle in, I would have been more careful. I bought this case because it looked like one of the few that would really hold the kindle in it, but this is definitely not the case. I feel like my kindle would have been safer without a case at all because I would have been holding it directly in my hands and it wouldn't have fallen out.

The cover is great - great quality, attractive, really protects my Kindle well. I love that the cover flips all the way behind the Kindle.

My one issue: What about a book light? It was tough finding a book light that would fit in the cover. I bring it back and forth with me on trips, and it's a pain to have to carry a book light separately.

I wound up bringing my Kindle 2 w/ the case to Barnes & Noble, opened up all of their book lights, & found one that I could fit inside the case. I wound up fitting a slim one in the middle crease.

I don't know what the pockets on the case are for: They are very tight and you can't seem to be able to use them for anything, unless you want to put a small piece of paper in there.

All in all, excellent quality and I would highly recommend the product.

I did just get my new kindle and cover today, so this review only covers the last few hours... I do not like that i had to purchase a cover separately from my new kindle, but on the other hand I do like that I had the chance to choose my cover instead of just the plain black one that came with my first gen kindle.

I like the sturdiness that this seems to have. I love that it locks my kindle safely in the cover. With my first generation I just removed the cover to read my kindle.

i would recommend a magnetic or snap or even the elastic band closure though, as the latch is a little tricky and then you have to tuck it out of the way.

Otherwise I do like this cover.

I wish that amazon had grouped the covers a little differently on the site, as I am interested in the cover that flips lengthwise as well... c'est la vie. I like this one plenty. For the price it is a little flawed though.
